I know I will practise more with an all in one even in bed lol, then I will find trax easier. Mainly just the iTunes changeover I want advice on as 20 years of intense playlisting there and its so powerful with finding faves by play count and smart lists. I dont use Traktor fx just the eqa and cues and waveforms so that’s an easy swap. Optionally, you may also add your iTunes playlists to TRAKTOR by dragging them from the iTunes node onto the Track Collection in the TRAKTOR browser or right-clicking on them and selecting Import to Playlists from the context menu. Also have ear a 1000 on shazam and YouTube to sort. Music can be accessed in Traktor DJ by pressing the music button in the upper right hand corner, or by swiping up on the iPad screen. In iTunes vorgenommene nderungen werden zwar im iTunes-Knoten angezeigt, jedoch nicht im Playlisten-Bereich der TRAKTOR Track-Collection. Once youve imported songs, Traktor DJ gives DJs two decks and a crossfader for creating mixes.
I think the simplicity of a few working condensed lists will be great and the more I mix and play then the more I can trim them down to best of the best. To begin using Traktor DJ, youll need to load it with music by syncing playlists in your iTunes collection. I care about playlists and being organised. Add your iTunes Music Library path to the TRAKTOR Music Folders under Preferences > File Management. Share iTunes Library XML with other applications is checked. I also love the hi quality 100% pitch and whole octave key shifting in Prime 4. Go to the Advanced Preferences tab, and make sure that: Keep iTunes Media folder organized is unchecked.
I love the idea of really hands on and just works capability, no hard drive full Traktor default settings reset and audio routing etc. How will I benefit from the Prime 4 with no future itunes organising? This is when one needs to start relocating music files. Moving the files within Traktor or within iTunes is fine, but as soon as you start moving them in the filing system of either, thats when things start to get messy.
I have crazy amount of playlists in iTunes plus some big dumping grounds lists like Bangers, Deep, Techno etc. Think of iTunes and Traktor as a window into your file system.
